A first fish. A proud grin. A story that gets told all the way home. This shorter outing is an easy way to enjoy trout fishing without taking up the whole day. Come on your own, with your partner, with a parent or child, or with a friend.

We help with the setup, explain what to do, and coach you along the way. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and the people you want to share it with.

Private lessons with Josh

You don’t have to know how.
That’s why we’re here.

Maybe your kids keep asking you to take them fishing. Maybe your friends fish, and you would like to join them. Or maybe it is something you have always wanted to learn.

You don’t need any fishing experience to get started. Josh explains each step and gives you time to practice and ask questions. Learn at your own pace, with patient guidance along the way. No pressure. No judgment.

Tie on a hook.

Practice a fishing knot with Josh, learn how to attach your hook, and check your connection before you cast.

Choose and rig your bait.

Learn how to choose bait for the fishing area, put your setup together, and understand what you are using and why.

Learn to cast.

Get comfortable with the rod and reel, practice controlling your cast, and build confidence through repetition.

Read the surroundings.

Look at the water and what is around it. Learn which clues can help you recognize a promising place to fish.

Private lessons are designed for one or two people, with starter tackle to take home. Our goal is to help you leave with skills you can use on your next fishing day.

Private lessons are a separate paid offering. Contact us for lesson length, pricing, and availability.
