Before your first cast.

Do I need fishing experience?
Not at all. Josh explains each step and gives you time to practice and ask questions. You can learn at your own pace. No pressure. No judgment.
What is included with a guided trip?
Your guided trip includes fishing rods, reels, tackle, bait or lures, and personal guidance. We also clean and bag fish you legally choose to keep.
Are these boat trips?
Our current trips are land-based, with fishing from the bank or dock. Tell us about any mobility needs before booking so we can discuss suitable access.
Can I come alone, as a couple, or with a group?
Yes. Solo anglers, couples, honeymooners, friends, and families are welcome. For larger families or corporate outings, contact us with your group size and preferred dates so we can discuss arrangements.
What should I bring?
Bring drinking water, sun protection, clothing suited to the weather, comfortable shoes with good traction, and your required fishing permits. Ask us about any additional needs for your chosen trip.
Can we keep our fish?
Yes, within the regulations and limits that apply to the fishing location and species. We can help you understand which fish may be kept, and we provide fish cleaning and bagging.
Where does the trip start?
Your designated starting location will be confirmed before your trip. Please follow the location and arrival instructions provided with your trip details.
Which trip should I choose?
Trout Adventure offers two hours, Signature Taneycomo Adventure offers four hours, and Trophy Trout Adventure offers six hours. Choose the time that suits your plans, or ask us for help. Fish size and catches cannot be guaranteed. Compare guided trips.
Before you fish

Fishing licenses & trout permits.

Your permit requirements depend on your age, residency, and where you fish. Purchase the required permits before your trip and have them available while fishing.

Missouri residents

Ages 16–64: $9 daily or $14 annual fishing permit.

Trout permit: $12 when required.

Missouri residents age 65+ are exempt from the regular fishing permit, but still need trout privileges when required.

Out-of-state guests

Ages 16+: $9 daily or $57 annual fishing permit.

Trout permit: $24 when required.

The age-65 fishing permit exemption is for Missouri residents, not out-of-state visitors.

Nonresident permit details ↗

Children age 15 and younger: Residents and nonresidents are exempt from the regular fishing permit. A $6 youth trout permit is still required when applicable.

Upstream of the U.S. Highway 65 bridge toward Table Rock Dam: Everyone fishing needs trout privileges, including children, Missouri seniors, and catch-and-release anglers. A regular fishing permit is also required unless exempt.

Downstream of that bridge: A trout permit is required to keep trout. Catch-and-release anglers still need a regular fishing permit unless exempt.

A trout permit does not replace a regular fishing permit. Listed prices are for 2026. Other qualifying exemptions and lifetime permit privileges may apply. Check MDC for current requirements.
